This year a group of very talented Fredsville members have put in hundreds of hours practicing a special musical to be presented on Easter Sunday and in the afternoon of April 23 at 1:30pm. This is the 5th musical performed at Fredsville and we are excited to bring the Easter Story to life in such a creative and fun way! Please invite your family, friends, and neighbors to join us at one of the performances! The musical, “It’s all because of Jesus” will also be taken on the road and performed at New Aldaya on Saturday April 15th at 10am and at the Western Home – Windhaven at 2pm. A very special thanks to all of the choir members for being the support singers and to cast members: Helene Wertz, Annemarie Goldhorn, Linda Nielsen, Meridith Sandlin, Jean Loger, and Pastor Lisa. Special thanks go out to Jeff Sandlin for being our Technical Director and Sound Technician! And to Art Lupkes a special thank you for being our one man props department and building our “television”!

On All Saint’s Sunday November 6th, during worship, we will lift up in prayer those who have passed away in the last year, since last All Saint’s Sunday. We will light a candle and remember those whom we love and dearly miss. Grieving is hard work and continues on for many years. On this day, as well as every Sunday, we pray for those who have passed and we pray for all who are grieving. May we all find hope in our times of grief in the knowledge that Christ is raised from the dead, so we too will be raised with Him.
Sunday, September 11, 2016 marks the 15th anniversary of the attacks on the twin towers in New York City. It is also a designated day of service by the ELCA called “God’s Work. Our Hands”. The past several years the ELCA has encouraged congregations to take part in a “God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday. This is intended to be a Sunday where instead of being in our building worshiping as we do every week that we would go out into our communities and be the hands of God for our neighbors and our community. The council is extremely excited about this event and we hope that EVERYONE will get involved! On Sunday September 11th we will gather at 9:30 a.m. and all will be given projects to work on- these projects will range from tying quilts, making pillowcase dresses, decorating doors at a nursing home, cleaning up trash in the ditches, baking cookies and delivering them fresh and hot to shut-ins, etc… We will gather again at Fredsville at 11:30 am for a brief liturgy of thankfulness and a celebration lunch and sharing of stories! Please, please, please mark this day on your calendar! We want this day to be an all congregation experience! We will make sure that there are activities for ALL ages and abilities! Tell your friends we would love to have them join us! If you are interested in helping to plan this event please contact Pastor Lisa ASAP! WOOT! WOOT! We are going to have a GREAT TIME!!!!!
