Lenten Mid-Week Services

Each Wednesday throughout the season of Lent, we will have informal mid-week worship services at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall preceded by a free meal at 5:45 p.m. Handbell choir will rehearse at 7:15 p.m. and choir will rehearse at 8 p.m.

The services will focus on the the final words of Christ.

Feb. 21: Father, forgive them.
Feb. 28: Today you will be with me in paradise.
March 7: Behold your son, behold your mother.
March 14: My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
March 21: I thirst.

On Wednesday, March 28, there will be no meal and worship will be at 7 p.m. This will be the “Maundy Thursday” service, held on Wednesday night because it fits schedules better for it to be on “church night.” The words for that night will be “Into your hands I commend my spirit.”

Family Closet Needs Donations

We need your clothing donations! All sizes, men’s, women’s and especially children and infant. Our reserve shelves are empty and the racks are looking thin. We do not need hangers; we have plenty of those. Donations can be brought to the church, Dike City Hall or New Hartford Library. Thank you for your support.

The Family Closet is open on the first and third Saturday morning of each month from 9:30-noon and the first and third Wednesday evening of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. Clothing is free to anyone.

Christmas Eve Worship

Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year, therefore we will celebrate the fourth Sunday in Advent at our 9:30 a.m. worship service. Then at 5:00 p.m. worship celebrate Christmas. The Christmas Eve worship will include candle light and communion. Please invite your family and friends to join us in a beautiful celebration of the birth of Christ. Merry Christmas to All!

Dancing around the Tree

A Danish tradition is to dance around the Christmas tree singing Christmas carols. We will dance around the tree following the December 17th worship and after the morning worship on the 24th. Please join in by holding hands and circling the tree with joyous carols of praise! It is a lot of fun and great way to celebrate the season with your church friends!
