Watch our Sunday worship service from Dec. 18, 2016, where we celebrated Christ’s birth together with special music from our Sunday School Children, Choir, and Handbell Choir. During the offering, we also displayed holiday “pew art” that our children created throughout advent:
Each Sunday during Advent, November 27th –December 18th, we will be collecting baby items during the offering. Diapers and new clothing items will be collected in celebration of the coming of the Christ child and the 2nd coming of Christ. Please remember a baby item to “fill the cradle”. The items collected will be donated to Fredsville’s Family Clothes Closet, the food pantry and the women’s shelter.
Join Pastor Lisa at the parsonage on Thursday Nov. 17th at 7:00 p.m. to watch our next film for discussion. Then join us for a discussion about the film on Monday Nov. 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the Gathering Space.
If it is easier for you to watch the film on your own and join us for conversation on the 21st, that is terrific! Please be sure to sign up on the clipboard so Pastor can plan accordingly!
Sunday November 6th and 20th from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Pastor Lisa will lead a Bible Study on the book of Mark. The study will meet in the conference room. Please plan on jumping in on this study even if you have never done a Bible Study before! We would love to have you join us! If you have any question, feel free to ask Pastor or call the church office!
On All Saint’s Sunday November 6th, during worship, we will lift up in prayer those who have passed away in the last year, since last All Saint’s Sunday. We will light a candle and remember those whom we love and dearly miss. Grieving is hard work and continues on for many years. On this day, as well as every Sunday, we pray for those who have passed and we pray for all who are grieving. May we all find hope in our times of grief in the knowledge that Christ is raised from the dead, so we too will be raised with Him.
Sunday, September 11, 2016 marks the 15th anniversary of the attacks on the twin towers in New York City. It is also a designated day of service by the ELCA called “God’s Work. Our Hands”. The past several years the ELCA has encouraged congregations to take part in a “God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday. This is intended to be a Sunday where instead of being in our building worshiping as we do every week that we would go out into our communities and be the hands of God for our neighbors and our community. The council is extremely excited about this event and we hope that EVERYONE will get involved! On Sunday September 11th we will gather at 9:30 a.m. and all will be given projects to work on- these projects will range from tying quilts, making pillowcase dresses, decorating doors at a nursing home, cleaning up trash in the ditches, baking cookies and delivering them fresh and hot to shut-ins, etc… We will gather again at Fredsville at 11:30 am for a brief liturgy of thankfulness and a celebration lunch and sharing of stories! Please, please, please mark this day on your calendar! We want this day to be an all congregation experience! We will make sure that there are activities for ALL ages and abilities! Tell your friends we would love to have them join us! If you are interested in helping to plan this event please contact Pastor Lisa ASAP! WOOT! WOOT! We are going to have a GREAT TIME!!!!!
